Leigh Ann and her husband, Mike, have three children – Graham, Grace, and Sarah Joy. She graduated from Piedmont Academy where she spent two years in high school studying Latin. After high school, Leigh Ann earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Georgia. Leigh Ann taught elementary school until her second child was born in 2001. In 2006, the Lord called their family to serve as missionaries and she began homeschooling their children. In 2014, the Lord brought Mike and Leigh Ann “full circle” back to Covington where they currently reside. Leigh Ann also serves on staff part-time at FBC Covington. In her spare time, Leigh Ann enjoys cooking and running.
Melissa graduated from Illinois State University with a B.S. in Deaf Education and is certified in Deaf Education K-12. As part of her student teaching she taught at the Minnesota School for the Deaf. Since graduation Melissa worked as an interpreter and teacher of the deaf at various levels. She took further courses in ASL and interpreting at Harper College, and was active in Deaf ministry as an interpreter at various churches. Melissa and her husband, Tim, are blessed to be the parents of three boys. They have been homeschooling since 2003. Melissa delights in spending time in God’s Word and prayer. She also enjoys camping and mountain biking with her family. She is excited to share her passion and knowledge of ASL with her students.
Elisa graduated from the University of North Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and is certified P-12 in Spanish. Her Spanish background not only comes from her studies, but from the influence of her maternal Colombian family. She has taught middle school and high school Spanish. She began teaching for Gwinnett County Public Schools where she taught for seven years until deciding to stay home with her children. She and her husband, Darrel, live with their four children in Loganville, where they are active members in their church and community. She loves teaching at Scholars Guild, where she can share both her knowledge of the Spanish language and her love for the Lord.
Vicky graduated from Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano in Cartagena-Colombia with a BS degree in Business Administration. She came to the US to study English at Hunter College in NYC where she met her husband David. Vicky has taught Spanish at Montessori and has also tutored children and currently does individual and group tutoring. She also has had the pleasure of teaching Elementary, Middle School and HS classes at Scholars Guild Academy since 2010. She is a Christian mother of two boys and has been married to her husband David since 1997. Vicky enjoys spending time hiking and biking with her family.
